What is honkball hoofdklasse?

Honkball Hoofdklasse is the highest professional baseball league in the Netherlands. It was founded in 1922 and currently consists of eight teams from different cities in the country. The league season usually lasts from April to September, with each team playing 42 regular-season games. The top four teams then advance to the playoffs, which culminates in the championship series. The league has produced several Major League Baseball players over the years, including Andruw Jones, Jurickson Profar, and Xander Bogaerts. Additionally, the Netherlands has become a rising force in international baseball, winning the European Baseball Championship multiple times and finishing fourth in the 2013 World Baseball Classic.
